Simple Mixers for Simple Villains

Villainous Mixers: How to Pair Your Favourite Villains Rums

At Villains Rum of York, we love our spirits bold, intriguing, and just a little bit wicked. Whether you like your rum fiery, smoky, or sweet as sin, the right mixer can elevate your drink into something truly villainous. Here’s how we recommend serving our infamous collection — simple, delicious pairings with ingredients you probably already have at home (of course you will be judged for missing but we are all fiends here).

🔥 Guy Fawkes Chilli-Spiced Rum
Infused with heat and rebellion, this one’s got a cheeky little tickle, but wont blow anything up of course! We love it over ice with a fiery ginger beer for a bold, spicy drink that warms you to your villainous core. Prefer something simpler? Classic cola works too — just enough sweetness to balance the flame.

Try:

  • 50ml Guy Fawkes Rum
  • Top with ginger beer or cola
  • Serve over ice, garnish with a lime wedge if you dare

🕵️‍♂️ Dick Turpin Smoky Dark Rum
Smooth and smoky, just like the highwayman himself. This one’s made for a twist on a classic Dark & Stormy. Ginger ale gives it the right sparkle, and a squeeze of fresh lime brings the whole drink alive. Uncomplicated, bold, and always on the run.

Try:

  • 50ml Dick Turpin Rum
  • 100ml ginger ale
  • Squeeze of fresh lime
  • Serve over ice, stir, and escape into the night

🧙‍♀️ Yorkshire Witch Pink Grapefruit Rum
Zesty and refreshing with a floral punch — perfect for sunny days (or pretending it’s one). We like it long and light, mixed with tonic or lemonade. Ideal for lounging in villainous style.

Try:

  • 50ml Yorkshire Pink Grapefruit
  • Top with tonic water (we like fevertree Mediterranean) or lemonade
  • Serve over ice, garnish with a slice of grapefruit if you’re feeling fancy

⚔️ Erik Bloodaxe Black Cherry Rum
Dark and delicious, with a Viking’s roar of black cherry. Our favourite way to enjoy it? Classic cola. Together, they make a rich cherry cola that’s hard to beat. You might not want to share.

Try:

  • 50ml Erik Bloodaxe Rum
  • Top with cola
  • Serve over ice, garnish with a maraschino cherry if you’re brave enough

🐱 Cat Tiki Caramelised Pineapple Rum
Our tropical troublemaker. For an easy punch, combine Cat Tiki with apple juice and ginger ale — simple, fruity, and totally deceptive. Serve it all in a tiki cup over ice and you’ve got yourself a party.

Try:

  • 25ml Cat Tiki Rum
  • 50ml apple juice
  • 50ml ginger ale
  • Serve over ice in a Cat tiki mug, add a pineapple slice if you’re feeling playful

So whether you’re mixing at home or plotting your next villainous gathering, these easy serves are a great way to unleash the flavour of each of our legendary rums. Just add ice, and let the mischief begin.

Stay Villainous.
